Chris works for the Critical Minerals Office within the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Science and Resources. The Office provides national policy and strategic advice to the Government, and plays a crucial role in facilitating the development of Australia’s critical minerals sector.
Chris and his team work across the range of technologies and supply chains into which critical minerals feed, including batteries, magnets and alloys, but with a particular focus on the minerals used in semiconductors and electrification. Chris also leads the Office’s work on research and development, and its international engagement with the UK, the EU and its member states. Chris brings over 20 years of experience relating to energy, climate and the environment. He has worked across a wide range of strategic and program delivery roles within government, and before that in academia.
